The Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter on Monday to share former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif’s tweet addressing Pakistan PM Imran Khan. In the tweet was posted earlier, Rijiju reiterates India’s “strong” message to PM Imran Khan and Pakistan. The tweet shared by Kaif targets PM Khan’s UNGA address which was just based on Kashmir. Kaif also calls out Pakistan to breed terrorists on their soil in his tweet.
Khan has been under severe attack from different quarters, ever since he has given a speech at the 74th session of the UNGA. Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly had recently labelled PM Khan’s address as "rubbish," and derided this is not the cricketer the world knew of. PM Modi, on the other hand, in his UNGA speech talked about India's growth and how the country has developed under his leadership. Imran Khan’s speech was mainly centred around Kashmir and the abrogation of Article 370.
Viru .. I see this and I am shocked ..a speech which is unheard of .. a world which needs peace ,pakistan as a country needs it the most .. and the leader speaks such rubbish ..not the Imran khan the cricketer world knew ..speech in UN was poor ..— Sourav Ganguly (@SGanguly99) October 3, 2019
Sportspeople are supposed to be role models. Of good behavior. Of Team spirit. Of ethics. Of strength of character. Recently in the UN, we also saw a former sportsperson speak up. As a role model for terrorists. @ImranKhanPTI should be excommunicated from sports community.— Gautam Gambhir (@GautamGambhir) September 30, 2019
