Slamming the former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for leaving the party ahead of the assembly polls, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday, in an event, while addressing the Sena workers, said that the 'Senapati' of the grand old party is gone. He slammed the party for questioning each and every step taken by the Central government, from the abrogation of Article 370 to the hanging of people who commit treason.

The Sena chief said: "What would have happened if we did not have an alliance with BJP?  In whose control, would the country have gone? The abrogation of Article 370 is a proud moment, a happy moment. It was in our manifesto that we will abrogate Article 370 and accordingly. But when Congress was asked, they said: 'Whatever happens we will not abrogate Article 370. The person who commits treason, we will hang them. This is our promise. But Congress said that they will remove that provision entirely. Now, do you want the country in these hands? Now you see, their leader has gone to Bangkok, which means their 'senapati' is gone. Now the pawns have been kept here. They're marching on wooden horses."
