15 new coronavirus patients found in Chhattisgarh, count 307

At least 15 more people, mostly migrant workers, have tested positive for coronavirus in Chhattisgarh since Monday night, taking the tally of cases in the state to 307, a health official said in Raipur.

At least 15 more people, mostly migrant workers, have tested positive for coronavirus in Chhattisgarh since Monday night, taking the tally of cases in the state to 307, a health official said in Raipur.

Fourteen cases were reported on Tuesday from Rajnandgaon and Bemetara districts, while a patient was detected in Raigarh district on late Monday night, he said.

Of the 12 new cases in Rajnandgaon, nine were migrant workers who recently returned from different parts of the country, said Dr Mithlesh Chaudhary, Rajnandgaon Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO).

The other three might have contracted the infection from the driver of a deputy collector in the district. The driver had tested positive for coronavirus on May 20, the CMHO said.

Of 307 coronavirus cases in the state, 235 are active while 72 patients have recovered, the official said.

The state has not recorded any COVID-19-related death so far.

Coronavirus figures in Chhattisgarh are as follows: positive cases-307, new cases-15, deaths-zero, discharged-72, active cases-235, people tested so far-55,022.
