Gas Tanker On Wrong-Way Collides With Car and Pick-up Van, Kills 7 in MP's Dhar District

Bhopal: A gas tanker driving on the wrong side of the road crashed into a car and a pick-up vehicle on the Badnawar-Ujjain four-lane highway in Madhya Pradesh ’s Dhar district late Wednesday night, killing seven people. Three others were injured in the accident, which occurred around 11 p.m.  

Among the deceased, three were in the pick-up van and four were in the car. Two victims were identified through Aadhaar cards found in their pockets—Anil Vyas from Namli, Ratlam district, and Girdhari Makhanja from Mandsaur.  

The impact was so severe that several victims were trapped inside their vehicles. Rescue teams used cranes to extricate the bodies, which have been taken to the Badnawar Civil Hospital. Post-mortem examinations were scheduled for Thursday morning.  

Local authorities, including the SDOP, arrived at the scene soon after the accident. Officials confirmed that the collision was extremely severe, leading to death. 

Further investigations are underway to determine how the gas tanker ended up on the wrong side of the highway and whether the driver was at fault.
