Mortal remains of Baba Siddique, NCP leader shot dead has been brought to his residence for public viewing; traffic is likely to be hit in Mumbai today.
Mumbai: Baba Siddique, the NCP leader who was fatally shot outside his son and MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office in Mumbai on Saturday evening, will be laid to rest with state honours. Baba Siddique's postmortem has been conducted and his mortal remains have been brought to his residence in Mumbai; funeral will be held later today. Traffic in Mumbai may be hit as people will come to pay their respects.

Baba Siddique, who breathed his last at the Lilavati Hospital last night was taken to Cooper Hospital today morning for postmortem. The NCP leader's postmortem was conducted in his son Zeeshan's presence and was also videographed. After his postmortem, the former Maharashtra minister's mortal remains have been brought to his residence in Bandra where it will be placed for public viewing.

A well-known politician, Baba Siddique has also had close ties with a lot of celebrities in the Hindi film industry and has been known for his grand Iftar parties. Given his relationships across politics and the entertainment field, a lot of people are expected to visit his residence to offer condolences.
The veteran politician's ‘Namaz E Janaza’ will take place today at 7 pm after Magrib Namaz at Maqba Heights, 15 A, Pali Road, Pali Naka, Bandra(W), followed by his funeral at Bada Kabarastan, Opp Marine Lines Station. For this reason, traffic around Baba Siddique's home and the Kabrastan is expected to be slow. Traffic congestion is likely. No update has been given by the Mumbai Traffic Police so far.
NCP Leader Baba Siddique Shot Dead, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Link Revealed
Baba Siddique, according to police sources, was shot by three masked assailants outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra East, Mumbai on Saturday evening. The former state minister was admitted to Lilavati Hospital but couldn't survive, a police official said.
Mumbai Police immediately took action and two out of three assailants have been arrested and taken into custody, however, the third assailant is still on the run. Condoling the death of Baba Siddique, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured strict action in this murder.
Meanwhile, Mumbai police have taken into custody two of three suspects involved in the firing. The arrested accused have been identified as Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, both residents of Haryana and UP, respectively. The probe into Siddique killing has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. It is learnt that during investigation the two arrested shooters claimed that they belong to Bishnoi Gang. As probe continues, it has come to light that the assailants were were doing recce of that area for the last 25-30 days.
The shocking assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique has raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Maharashtra , where assembly elections are set to take place next month. A prominent Muslim leader from Mumbai, Siddique had represented the Bandra (West) seat in the assembly three times and was known for his close ties with various Bollywood stars.
