Bengal Bandh Today: Train Services Hit as BJP Karyakartas Stage Rail Blockade
As BJP observes Bengal Bandh today, the party workers stage a rail blockade on several tracks, resulting in disruption of train services.
Kolkata: During the ongoing Bengal Bandh today, the BJP karyakartas have staged a rail blockade, disrupting rail services in the city.
Following the violence unleashed on student protestors during the Nabanna Protest on Tuesday, BJP has called for a 12-hour Bengal Bandh today.
Bengal Bandh: Rail Blockade Disrupts Train Services
The protestors of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) participating in the Bengal Bandh have been staging road and rail blockades across the state.

Bengal Bandh Today: Airlines Issue Advisory
Apart from rail blockades, flight services may also be affected and as a precaution, several airlines including IndiGo have issued travel advisories.
Vistara, IndiGo and SpiceJet have issued travel advisories alerting passengers about possible transport issues, road blockages, diversions, traffic congestion and slow vehicle movement en route to the Kolkata airport.
They have also urged flyers to plan travel well in advance and track flight status to stay updated on the developments during the bandh.
Bengal Bandh Today from 6 am to 6 pm
The Nabanna Protest led by students in Kolkata, demanding the resignation of CM Mamata Banerjee, turned violent after Mamata cops attacked the peaceful protestors with lathi charge, water cannons and tear gas shells.
Hundreds have been arrested and following this violence by the cops on the protestors, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) have called for a 12-hour Bengal Bandh from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Sukanta Majumdar, the Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President said on Tuesday, “West Bengal BJP calls a 12-hour West Bengal bandh tomorrow.”
The BJP also demanded presidential rule and accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of being responsible for the violence during the student protests earlier in the day.
