Bengaluru Woman Murder: NCW Demands Prompt Arrest, Police Report in 3 Days
The NCW has urged the Police to expedite the arrest of suspects linked to the murder of a woman, whose dismembered body was found stuffed into a refrigerator.
New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has urged the Bengaluru Police to expedite the arrest of suspects linked to the gruesome murder of a 29-year-old woman, whose dismembered body was found stuffed into a refrigerator at her Vyalikaval residence.
The NCW has also asked the police to submit a detailed report within three days and ensure a thorough and time-bound investigation into the case.
According to police, the victim's body was found chopped into over 50 pieces and concealed in a fridge inside her apartment.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the NCW stated that it was alerted to the incident through media reports.
"The commission has directed the state police to expedite the arrest of all involved and ensure a thorough, time-bound investigation. A detailed report is expected within 3 days," it said.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Monday pledged swift action to arrest those responsible for the gruesome murder of the woman at the earliest possible.
The decomposed body of Mahalakshmi was discovered by her mother and elder sister on September 21, was found infested with maggots at her residence.
