Ghaziabad: Tragedy struck a paper mill in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad after a boiler exploded, resulting in the death of three workers. Emergency protocols have been implemented and authorities have reached the spot.
Three workers at a paper mill in UP's Ghaziabad passed away today, after a boiler exploded inside the factory. ACP Gyan Prakash has confirmed the tragic incident. A police source was quoted by PTI as saying, “All of a sudden the boiler blasted due to which the three labourers were flung in the air and fell 50 feet away.”
A video has also surfaced from after the incident, showing the destroyed boiler that had exploded. A group of people including the workers and authorities can be seen standing in the video; there are visuals of the destruction caused by the blast.
The three workers, identified as Yogendra, Anuj, and Awdhesh, had sustained severe injuries and their body parts were reportedly strewn around. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at a factory in the Modinagar area of Ghaziabad. An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
In another incident reported in Lucknow on March 27, a fire broke out in the basement of Silver Apartment in the Hazratganj area, damaging several parked vehicles. The fire destroyed seven two-wheelers and four four-wheelers, while firefighters were able to rescue 10 other vehicles. After an hour of intense work, the fire department successfully extinguished the flames. Reports suggest that the fire began on the ground floor, with thick smoke quickly spreading to all five floors of the building.
