Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) has emerged as the clear winner in the Haryana municipal elections, securing six out of 10 mayor seats, marking its landslide victory again after the Assembly elections. The party's dominance was evident in the results, with its candidates winning in Ambala, Faridabad, Gurugram, Karnal, and Sonipat. Not only this, the saffron party is also leading in all three seats in Haryana.
The BJP victory in the civic body polls have proved party's stronghold in the state. The party's candidates ran a spirited campaign, focusing on issues such as development, infrastructure, and good governance. The Congress , on the other hand, has failed to open its account in the mayor elections, a worrying sign for the party's prospects in the state. The party's candidates put up a lackluster performance, failing to inspire confidence among the voters.

In a surprise twist, an independent candidate, Dr Inderjeet Yadav, won the mayor seat in Manesar, defeating the BJP candidate by a margin of around 2300 votes. However, his victory has taken everyone by surprise, with many analysts wondering if this is a sign of things to come in the state's politics.

The BJP's dominance in the municipal elections is a major boost to the party's stronghold in the state. The BJP candidates have performed well across the board, winning in most of the municipal bodies.
As the results have emerged in favour of the ruling party in the state, all eyes are now on the BJP's next move.

BJP Registers Big Win On Key Seats
The BJP has repeatedly won mayor seats in Ambala, Faridabad, Gurugram, Karnal, and Sonipat. One notable victory was in Hisar, where BJP's mayoral candidate Praveen Popli won by a margin of 64,456 votes, securing 96,329 votes against Congress's Krishna Singla, who got 31,843 votes.
On the Gurugram seat, BJP leader Raj Rani Malhotra secured a comfortable win. Following the victory, she also held a roadshow in the area and expressed gratitude to the people of Gurugram.
The BJP's dominance extends to most municipal bodies in the state, with counting still underway. The elections were held across seven municipal corporations, including Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal, and Yamunanagar, as well as by-elections for the mayoral posts in Ambala and Sonipat.
CM Saini Expresses Gratitude
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed his gratitude to the people of Haryana for showering their love and support for the party again. He said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Haryana ,your blessings have led us to victory. I congratulate everyone and am deeply thankful to all who appreciate our work. We will continue our efforts under Modi Ji’s leadership our triple engine government will strive to serve Haryana to the best of our abilities. We approach every election with utmost seriousness, reflecting our respect for democracy”
The Haryana chief minister also took jibe at the Congress party saying that the their past actions have led to the outcome and they won't win the elections.
