Ahmedabad: The black box of Air India London flight AI-171 which crashed with 242 passengers onboard moments after it took off from Sardar Vallahbhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad will be decoded in a foreign nation at a neutral lab, reports said.

Reportedly, the black box of the ill-fated Air India flight has been recovered by probing agencies. The black box is one of the most crucial components of an aircraft, recording everything that happens in the cockpit.

The Air India plane AI 171 was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner which took off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday and crashed within 33 seconds at 1:39 PM. The aircraft turned into a ball of fire, leaving almost no chance of anybody surviving the crash. For several hours after the plane crash and also according to a statement from Ahmedabad police commissioner, there was no hope of any passenger surviving. However, in a miracle, a passenger seated on 11A identified as British national, somehow escaped from the emergency exit and came out alive. He was seen walking and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

So far, it has been reported that a total of 260 people including 242 Air India passengers, and those who were present at the doctor's hostel. The Air India flight had crashed into a compound housing a medical college hostel.

According to what has surfaced so far, the doomed flight failed to hold the thrust and gain lift as alarmed by the pilot in the MayDay call to the Air Traffic Control (ATC). It has been reported that the pilot in the MayDay call to the ATC said “no thrust, not able to lift”. As soon as the ATC responded to pilot's MayDay call, there was no response from the cockpit, triggering panic among the authorities. Moments later, a huge explosion was heard and seen as the plane crashed into a building. All this conspired in just 30-60 seconds.

The flight took off, encountered something was wrong, and crashed.
