All Meat Shops and Slaughter Houses in UP to Remain Shut On Sept 17 for Anant Chaturdashi
The UP government has ordered the closing of all meat shops and slaughter houses in the state on account of Anant Chaturdashi on September 17.

Lucknow: On account of Anant Chaturdashi, the BJP -led UP government has announced the closure of all meat shops and slaughter houses in the state, on September 17. The order has been issued by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath .
UP Meat Shops, Slaughter Houses Shut on Sept 17
All meat shops and slaughter houses across the state will remain closed on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 as per the order of the Uttar Pradesh government, in lieu of Anant Chaturdashi.
The official order by the UP CM Yogi Adityanath reads, “In view of the demand made by lakhs of Jain followers living in Uttar Pradesh, after due consideration, it has been decided to keep all the slaughterhouses and meat shops closed in Uttar Pradesh on Anant Chaturdashi (dated 17.09.2024).”
In another news, the government holiday for Eid-e-Milad has been rescheduled in Mumbai from 16th September to 18th September. The announcement has been made by the Maharashtra government, keeping in mind the demands of several Muslim MLAs and other organisations.
The decision has been taken after taking into consideration multiple demands from Muslim MLAs and other organisations who have already decided to take out the Eid-e-Milad procession on 18th September to avoid any inconvenience during Ganpati immersion for the final day.
