Shivpuri: A boat carrying devotees capsized at Mata Tila Dam near Khaniyadhana police station in Madhya Pradesh 's Shivpuri. According to the Shivpuri police, at least seven people are missing, including three women following the incident. As per reports, eight people have been rescued so far and further a rescue operation is underway in the waters of the dam. SP Shivpuri Aman Singh Rathore stated that the devotees were going to Siddh Baba temple when the boat capsized in the Mata Tila Dam. 

A massive search and rescue operation has been initiated. The Shivpuri police and rescue teams are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals.

Similar incidents have occurred in the past, such as in Bhopal, where a boat capsized, resulting in five deaths and one person missing. Another incident in Gujarat 's Surat district saw two people die and five go missing after their fishing boat capsized.

The authorities are taking these incidents seriously, and investigations are underway to determine the causes of these tragic events.

According to police reports, three women and four children are presumed drowned after the boat ferrying them to a temple on an island in the dam capsized.

The incident occurred when a boat carrying 15 devotees from Rajavan village was headed to the Siddha Baba temple. Eyewitnesses recounted that a woman on board first noticed water gushing into the boat, which subsequently sank.

The emergency responders swiftly launched a search operation, involving divers, to locate the missing individuals. Fortunately, eight persons were rescued with the assistance of local villagers.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, announcing a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased. In a statement, CM Yadav praised the collaborative efforts of the district administration, local citizens, and NDRF jawans in rescuing eight people safely.

As the search operation continues, the authorities urge everyone to exercise caution when engaging in water activities.
