New Delhi: India has closed its air space for all Pakistan aircrafts, issues NOTAM as government plans to punish perpetrators, handlers and backers of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
From April 30 to May 23, 2025, India has restricted its airspace (VIDF, VABF, VECF, VOMF FIRs) for all aircraft registered in Pakistan or operated, owned, or leased by Pakistani airlines, including military flights. The restriction applies from ground level to unlimited altitude, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement.
This move has come after Pakistan earlier in the day closed its air space for Indian aircraft. Pakistan, which is already in panic as it's anticipating an imminent response from India to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, has also closed its airspace for all airlines across the world in Pakistani occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In another development, Directors General of Military Operations of India warned Pakistan over ceasefire violations over the hotline.

After India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, Pakistan suspended Simla Agreement and has been violating ceasefire since then. Though the Indian side has been retaliating with full force.

On April 22, 2025, Pakistan-backed terrorists barbarically killed 26 Indian civilians who were visiting Kashmir for vacation but their stay ended in a tragedy.
Pakistani terrorists singled out Hindus, hand-picked them by checking their IDs, asked them to recite Kalma and brutally shot them dead in front of their wife, children and parents.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a clear cut warning made it clear that India will identify and bring the perpetrators, handlers, and their backers to justice.
On Tuesday, PM Modi gave a full operational freedom to the chiefs of all three armed forces to respond to the Pahalgam terror attack.
The Prime Minister affirmed that it is country's national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism and expressed complete faith and confidence in the professional abilities of the Indian Armed Forces.
He also said that they have complete operational freedom to decide on the mode, targets, and timing of their response.
