India Rejects US Report on Religious Freedom as 'Malicious'
MEA has issued a strong rebuttal to the latest report from the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.
New Delhi, India: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued a strong rebuttal to the latest report from the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), labeling it as biased and politically driven.
“Our views on the USCIRF are well known,” the MEA stated. “It is a biased organization with a political agenda. It continues to misrepresent facts and peddles a motivated narrative about India.”
The ministry firmly rejected the contents of the report, asserting that it only serves to further discredit the USCIRF. The MEA urged the commission to cease what it termed “agenda-driven efforts” and suggested that it would be better served focusing on human rights issues within the United States itself.
