New Delhi: India has reiterated its firm stance on cross-border terrorism, stating that it remains open to discussing the extradition of wanted terrorists whose names have already been shared with Pakistan. The statement comes amid an intensified diplomatic push by New Delhi to expose Pakistan’s long-standing support for terror activities on the global stage.

List Shared, Now Time for Action: MEA

While addressing the media, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that a list of noted terrorists was shared with Islamabad years ago and that the onus is now on Pakistan to act.

“Talks and terror don’t go together. On terrorism itself, we are open to discussing the handing over to India of noted terrorists whose list was provided to Pakistan some years ago,” Jaiswal stated, emphasizing that the expectation is now for credible action from Pakistan.

Responding to recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who claimed credit for facilitating the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Jaiswal said there was nothing new to add and reiterated India's consistent stand. “Any India-Pakistan engagement has to be bilateral. On Jammu and Kashmir, any discussion will only be about the vacation of illegally occupied Indian territory by Pakistan,” he said.

Indus Waters Treaty in Limbo Until Terror Ends

India also clarified its position on the Indus Waters Treaty, stating that it will remain in abeyance until Pakistan credibly and irreversibly stops its support for terrorism. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaiswal said, “‘Water and blood cannot flow together.’”

India has launched a multi-pronged diplomatic mission to garner international support against terrorism. “There are seven delegations, of which three have already left for their destinations,” the MEA spokesperson said.
