New Delhi: Jio, a leading telecom provider, suffered a massive network outage, impacting thousands of users across the country on Tuesday. Downdetector, a platform monitoring real-time outages, showed that a significant 54 per cent of the complaints are related to issues with mobile internet connectivity. The issue peaked around 1:42 PM, causing widespread disruption for users relying on the network for essential communication and internet access. Key applications including WhatsApp, Instagram, X, Snapchat, YouTube, and Google were also impacted.

Reports claimed that a significant 38 per cent of reported issues are related to disruptions in Jio Fiber service, while 7 per cent of users witnessed difficulties with mobile networks. This outage has sparked widespread frustration among Jio customers who heavily depend on these services for daily communication and entertainment. Social media platforms were inundated with complaints and queries as users demanded answers and updates regarding the restoration of normal service.

The exact cause of the outage remains unclear, and Reliance Jio has not yet issued an official statement addressing the situation.

According to NetBlocks, significant disruptions were reported in these regions.

This isn't the first instance where Jio outages have disrupted users. In April, Jio customers encountered issues accessing the internet and using social media platforms. Similar problems are now being reported again, prompting users to search for solutions to the Jio network downtime.

Jio has been at the forefront of 5G connectivity in India, making substantial upgrades for smartphone users over the past decade. They were the first company to introduce 5G connectivity following the announcement of the 5G rollout at the Mobile World Congress 2024, attended by industry leaders.
