Haryana Assembly Elections 2024

Earlier on Monday, former Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leaders Anoop Dhanak, Ram Kumar Gautam, and Jogi Ram Sihag, who recently left the party, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), giving a significant boost to the ruling party in Haryana ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled to be held on October 5.

The JJP had been in an alliance with the BJP in Haryana for over four years, from October 2019 until March 2024, when the BJP ended the partnership. The Jannayak Janta Party was formed in December 2018 after a split from its parent organization, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). In the last Haryana Assembly elections, the JJP secured 10 seats.
