Patna: As controversy surrounding the alleged irregularities in NEET-UG exams continues to intensify, the Bihar Police arrested five people from Deoghar in Jharkhand on Friday, said sources. The arrests were made by the Bihar Police's Economic Offences Unit (EOU), which has taken over the investigation.

All of them are residents of Nalanda. This comes days after 13 people, including four NEET-UG candidates and their family members, were arrested in Bihar in connection with the alleged paper leak.

Among those arrested yesterday are key figures allegedly involved in the conspiracy:

1. Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu - Suspected paper setter.
2. Bittu Kumar - Driver reportedly linked to the logistics of the leak.
3. Akhilesh Kumar - Father of NEET candidate Ayush Kumar.
4. Ayush Kumar - NEET candidate.

13. Shivnandan Kumar - NEET candidate arrested in connection with the case.

The arrests following an intensive investigation launched by Bihar Police after allegations surfaced regarding the leak of NEET examination papers. The case gained momentum with confessions made by Anurag Yadav, one of the NEET candidates, whose statements have provided crucial leads to law enforcement agencies.

The NEET paper leak scandal in Bihar has raised serious concerns about the security and fairness of the examination process. Reports suggest that the leaked papers were circulated through a network involving setters, candidates, and facilitators, compromising the merit-based selection system intended by the exam.

Anurag Yadav's confessions have shed light on the modus operandi used to leak the papers and manipulate the examination system. His revelations are expected to aid further investigations into the depth of the conspiracy and identify additional suspects involved in the unlawful activity.
