No Holiday for UP Police for 1 Month Starting October 8, Here's Why
Ahead of the festive period, all leaves of the UP Police personnel have been cancelled and they are not allowed to take a leave for one month starting Oct 8.
Lucknow: The ongoing Navratri -Durga Puja period will be followed by Diwali and ahead of the festivities, all the leaves of UP Police have been cancelled and they will not be allowed to take a leave for one month, starting Tuesday, October 8.
No Holiday for UP Police for a Month Starting Oct 8
Leave of police personnel has been banned for one month in Uttar Pradesh. From October 8, police personnel will not be able to take any kind of leave; this instruction, issued by the Director General of Police (DGP), Uttar Pradesh, will remain in place till November 8.
This means that the police personnel in Uttar Pradesh will not get any holiday for the ongoing Navratri celebrations, Durga Puja and Diwali festivities.

This decision has been taken to maintain law and order and in view of the upcoming festivals and important events, so that security can be ensured.
This step has been taken to keep the police force alert and active.
Official Statement Issued by DGP, UP
Prashant Kumar, the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh has issued an official statement regarding the same.
The statement reads, “Leave of all types of police personnel is stopped from 08-10-2024 to 08-11-2024 in view of forth coming Durgapuja/Dussehra, Dipawali and Chhath Puja festival. In special case, leave may be sanctioned by you as per need. Ensure compliance strictly.”
