Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Admitted to AIIMS After Chest Pain; PM Modi Pays Visit

Vice President Dhankhar has been admitted to AIIMS Delhi after complaining of chest pain.

New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was admitted to AIIMS Delhi in the early hours of Sunday after complaining of uneasiness and chest pain.

The 73-year-old Vice President was rushed to the hospital around 2 a.m. due to heart-related issues.

Dhankhar is currently under the care of Dr. Rajiv Narang, Head of the Department of Cardiology at AIIMS, in the Critical Care Unit (CCU).

Sources report that his condition is stable following the successful implantation of a stent, and his health is being closely monitored by doctors.

AIIMS sources confirmed that Vice President Dhankhar was admitted to the cardiac department early in the morning and is now stable and under observation.

PM Modi shared on his X account that he paid a visit to the Vice President in AIIMS. 

“Went to AIIMS and enquired about the health of Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. I pray for his good health and speedy recovery", his tweet read. 

Union Health Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda visited AIIMS to inquire about Dhankhar's condition shortly after his admission.

This incident comes just days after the Vice President's official visit to Mumbai, where he presided as the chief guest at the annual day function of the K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce.

In 2021, Jagdeep Dhankhar was also admitted to AIIMS Delhi after testing positive for malaria.
