BREAKING | VIDEO: Massive Fire Engulfs Greater Noida Girls' Hostel, Students Jump to Escape

Greater Noida Fire: A massive fire broke out at the Annapurna Girls Hostel in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-3 area. The blaze, which reportedly started due to an air-conditioner explosion, spread quickly, trapping some girls inside the building. Two of the hostel's residents were seen jumping from the second floor in an attempt to escape the fire.

Girls Rescued, One Injured in Fall

As the fire raged, two girls became trapped on the second floor of the building. Both attempted to escape the flames by jumping from the second floor. One of them managed to reach a ladder extended by locals for rescue, while the other fell during her attempt to get to safety. 

AC Explosion Likely the Cause 

The fire reportedly began due to an explosion in an air-conditioning unit installed at the hostel. 

According to initial reports, the fire rapidly spread from the source of the blast, engulfing the building and causing chaos. While many of the girls managed to evacuate the building immediately, the incident still created a frightening scene as smoke and flames billowed from the windows of the hostel.

Fortunately, the fire department confirmed that the girl who fell did not suffer any major injuries and was reported to be in good health.

The Greater Noida Fire Department received a call about the incident at approximately 5:00 PM on Thursday. Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Choubey confirmed the department's swift response to the fire. 

“Yesterday evening at around 5 PM, we received information that a fire had broken out in the Annapurna Girls Hostel located in Knowledge Park-3. Our team immediately reached the spot and controlled the fire. Our Fire Safety Officer (FSO) was also present at the location,” CFO Choubey stated.

CFO Choubey further reassured that no loss of life occurred during the fire. He mentioned that all the girls had already been evacuated from the building by the time fire services arrived at the scene. “There has been no loss of life in this incident. All necessary legal action is being taken,” he confirmed.
