CIK Conducts Multiple Raids Across Kashmir Over Suspected SIM Misuse, Terror-Linked Cases

CIK Conducts Multiple Raids Across Kashmir Over Suspected SIM Misuse, Terror-Linked Cases

Srinagar: Crime Investigation Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday conducted multiple early-morning raids at different locations across North and South Kashmir as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected SIM misuse, social media-related offences and alleged terror-linked activities.

In Kupwara, CIK teams raided the residence of Baber Hamid Dar at Chankhan in connection with a suspected SIM-related social media misuse case.

A separate raid was conducted in Hajin in Bandipora district at the residence of Laalii, daughter of Abdul Rashid Dar, at Mukhdamyari. The search was also linked to a suspected SIM misuse case.

In Pattan, CIK personnel raided the residence of Abrar Nabi Sheikh at Tantraypora in Palhallan. Police personnel and local revenue officials were present during the operation.

In Zainapora, CIK conducted a search at the residence of Gulzar Ahmad Wani at Hushangpora, Nagbal, in connection with FIR No. 03/2023 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar. The case involves provisions of Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Wani's son, Usman Gulzar, has already been arrested and is lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal in Jammu in connection with FIR No. 104/2022 registered at Police Station Zainapora. The case was registered under relevant provisions of the Arms Act, IPC and UAPA.

The latest searches are part of a wider CIK investigation into suspected terror-related activities, alleged misuse of SIM cards and social media platforms, and possible radicalisation networks in Kashmir.

Search operations were underway at multiple locations, with further details awaited from the investigating authorities.
