Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikaramarka presented the state budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Legislative Assembly. The Finance minister proposed total expenditure of 3,04,965 crore, with revenue expenditure of 2,26,982 crore and capital expenditure of 36,504 crore.
State Govt proposed budget allocations to various department:
• Scheduled Castes Welfare- ₹40232 crore
• Scheduled Tribes Welfare- ₹17169 crore
• Backward Classes Welfare- ₹11405 crore
• Minority Welfare- ₹3591 crore
• Panchayat Raj & Rural- ₹31605 crore
• Agriculture- ₹24439 crore
• Irrigation- ₹23373 crore
• Education- ₹23108 crore
• Energy- ₹21221 crore
• Municipal Administration- ₹17677 crore
• Health- ₹ 12393 crore
• Roads & Buildings- ₹ 5907 crore
• Civil Supplies- ₹5734 crore
• Industries- ₹3527 crore
• Women and Child Welfare- ₹2862 crore
• Animal Husbandry- ₹1674 crore
• Forests & Environment- ₹1023 crore
• Youth Services- ₹900 crore
• Tourism- ₹775 crore
• Information Technology- ₹774 crore
• Sports- ₹465 crore
• Handlooms- ₹371 crore
Finance minister in this budget speech stated that “The previous government pledged to provide double bedroom houses for the poor over a decade, raising hopes but failing to deliver on its promise. Our government has allocated ₹305.03 crore to complete the construction of 34,545 pending houses, ensuring they reach the intended beneficiaries”.
The state government has planned to develop an AI City on 200 acres in Future City to equip Telangana's youth and students with advanced skills.
Opposition hits out at Govt over budget allocation
Speaking to the media, BRS MLA & working President K T Rama Rao said that after looking at the budget, which was presented today, the six guarantees and the promises have fallen flat. All the top leaders of Congress party including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Kharge and others had come to Telangana and made promises but after looking at the budget it clearly seen that they have betrayed everyone. They had promised that six guarantees will be implemented within 100 days but it’s been more than 500 days but promises are not fulfilled. the state is not bankrupt, but the Chief Minister and his team is bankrupt, KTR added.
