Crackdown on ‘Saree Chor’ Gang in Bengaluru, 4 Women Arrested For Stealing 38 Silk Sarees
Four women have been arrested in Bengaluru for carrying out robbery which resulted in stealing expensive silk sarees from the city.
Bengaluru: Police has busted a ‘saree chor’ gang in Bengaluru as four women have been arrested after they carried out a sharp robbery which resulted in stealing expensive silk sarees from a shop in JP Nagar area.

“These four women, along with two others, visited a silk shop in JP Nagar and attempted to divert the attention of the shop workers. They tried to leave with about 18 sarees.
"The shop staff, suspecting their behaviour, stopped and questioned them. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the women had been involved in similar thefts at other shops in JP Nagar and Jayanagar, leading to the recovery of the stolen sarees,” said Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda.
"Four women have been arrested in this case, and we are working to apprehend the two others," a police official added.
Meanwhile in a similar incident, a house break-in was executed by the thieves, sarees and cash worth Rs 3.64 lakh were stolen from a sari showroom near Shivranjani Crossroads in Gujarat.
According to the police, the manager of the saree showroom claimed that when he reached the saree outlet, he found that the cash box was broken and around Rs 2 lakh was missing from the box.
Later, the manager also realized that five sarees worth Rs 2 lakh were also missing from the spot.
Thieves had also planned to leave no footprints, in this regard, they also stole the DVR which was placed in the showroom resulting in no CCTV footage available.
