Cyber Complaint Filed Against Telegram Channel Threatening Kashmiri Pandit Employees, Security Protocols Activated

Srinagar: In a disturbing escalation of online intimidation, a formal complaint has been lodged against a Telegram account accused of threatening Kashmiri Pandit employees and conducting polls that openly sought approval to initiate killings. 

Filed in Delhi by Vineet Jindal with the Cyber Terrorism Cell, the complaint demands immediate forensic investigation to trace the IP configuration behind the handle @BuChuskf, which is alleged to be spreading extremist propaganda and conducting surveillance activities. 

According to the complaint, the channel has circulated highly objectionable content, including explicit threats of murder, execution, and physical assault. Posts have referenced shootings, burning homes and crops, and even preparing cremation grounds for victims.

On August 11, 2026, one post reportedly asked followers whether a “countdown to execution” should begin, accompanied by a poll endorsing violence.

Meanwhile, the digital campaign has leaked sensitive personal details of at least six Kashmiri Pandit government employees, names, phone numbers, departmental postings, family information, and home addresses raising fears of targeted attacks.

The complainant argues this constitutes criminal intimidation, incitement to violence, and possible coordination of extremist activity, urging police to register an FIR and arrest those responsible.

Jammu and Kashmir administration has responded by activating emergency security protocols. Minority PM package employees, particularly in sensitive departments such as revenue and education, have been verbally advised to work from home until August 25.

Security forces have intensified surveillance, launched special patrols, and conducted cordon-and-search operations around transit accommodations and minority settlements.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, informed that cyber intelligence units are tracking the digital trail to verify the authenticity of leaked employee data and identify the source of the breach.

“We are treating this as a serious cyber-terrorism threat. The investigation is underway to ensure accountability and protection of vulnerable groups,” he said.

“This is psychological warfare, designed to instill fear and drive minorities out,” said one local resident while he added, “The administration must act decisively; otherwise, these digital platforms will become breeding grounds for violence,”.
