Dehradun to Face 7-Hour Power Outage till Oct 20, Check Affected Areas, Timings

Power corporation announces shutdown ahead of Diwali preparations. The maintenance work to affect urban and rural areas and suburban areas.

Dehradun: In preparation for Diwali, the Power Corporation has initiated maintenance work in urban, rural, and suburban areas. The work involves replacing electrical lines, repairing equipment, and conducting testing, for which a scheduled shutdown has been announced.

Seven-Hour Daily Power Cuts for Two Weeks

Several feeders across various substations will experience daily power cuts lasting seven hours for the next two weeks. This includes the Pathribagh, Mohanpur, and Dhoolkot substations, as well as feeders in areas such as Sahastradhara Road and Mussoorie. Residents in these regions will face power outages during the day as maintenance work begins.

Shutdown Schedule Released for Pathribagh Substation

Under the South Zone of the Power Distribution Division, Pathribagh substation will undergo maintenance work. The Dehrakhas and Narayan Vihar feeders will experience power outages between October 6 to 11 and October 14 to 20, from 10 AM to 5 PM daily.

The areas connected to these feeders, such as Devrishi Enclave, Ashirwad Enclave, Vasundhara Enclave, Trimurti Vihar, Dehrakhas, Patel Nagar Police Station, Saibaba Enclave, Narayan Vihar, Om City, Palm City, Avantika Vihar, Bahuguna Colony, Adarsh Vihar, Kargi Colony, THDC Colony, and Vidya Vihar, will face disruptions in electricity supply during these dates.

Power Cuts in Mohanpur and Dhoolkot Substation Areas

The Mohanpur and Dhoolkot substations under the Mohanpur Division will also experience shutdowns for the installation of new electrical lines and other maintenance work. From October 7 to October 19, electricity will be cut off for seven hours daily, affecting areas such as Jhajhra, Shyampur, Ambiwala, Premnagar, and Shivalik.

Mussoorie and Sahastradhara Areas Also Affected

Under the North Division of the Power Corporation, Mussoorie and Sahastradhara Road areas will face scheduled shutdowns. The affected areas in Mussoorie include regions connected to Mall Road, Library Chowk, Spring Road, Hussain Ganj, Happy Valley, Company Garden, and Kempty Road. Similarly, power cuts will affect regions connected to the LBSNAA, Happy Valley, and Landour powerhouses.

In Dehradun, Sahastradhara Road will also experience disruptions, with areas like Pragati Vihar, Keval Vihar, Keval Kala, Madhur Vihar, Sumanpuri, Rishinagar, Kanan Kunj, Nalapani Chowk, Raksha Vihar, Adarsh Vihar, Vikaslok, and Azadnagar expected to be affected.

The Power Corporation has urged residents in these areas to plan their activities accordingly, as the maintenance work is essential for ensuring smooth power supply during the Diwali festival.
