New Delhi: The newly elected BJP government in Delhi has presented its first budget in the Delhi Assembly after over 26 years, outlining significant financial allocations aimed at boosting welfare programmes, infrastructure, and healthcare in the national capital.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also serves as the Finance Minister, announced the details of the Delhi Budget 2025-26 (FY26), which includes a Rs 5,100 crore allocation for a monthly financial assistance scheme for women, alongside other crucial investments in transportation, healthcare, and urban development.

In her address, CM Rekha Gupta emphasised the focus on creating a robust and modern infrastructure. While addressing pressing issues such as healthcare, women’s welfare, and urban development. Describing the budget as "historic," she highlighted that this comprehensive budget is aimed at laying the foundation for a better and more prosperous Delhi.

With a total outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore, the Delhi Budget for FY26 marks a 31.5 per cent increase compared to the previous year's budget.
