Delhi-Darbhanga SpiceJet Flyers Left Inside Flight Without AC For Hours In Blistering Heat

New Delhi: Imagine being locked inside an enclosed space with no open doors, windows or fans. For many, it seems terrible as spending even five minutes in such a space without a fan or ventilation is impossible amid blistering heat. 

Shockingly, SpiceJet made the passengers travelling from Delhi to Darbhanga (on SG 486) wait inside an aircraft without air conditioning (AC) for over an hour amid the ongoing heatwave, with several feeling unwell.

Passengers, especially the elderly and children, suffered from symptoms of heat exhaustion due to blistering heat and no ventilation facility. 

‘40 Degree Celsius’ Inside Cabin  

A SpiceJet passenger, Rohan Kumar, after deboarding the aircraft said that the air-conditioner was switched off for more than an hour and the passengers were suffering.   

“I was travelling from Delhi to Darbhanga (SG 486) from SpiceJet. At the Delhi airport after the check-in, they did not switch on the air-conditioning (AC) for an hour. The temperature inside (flight) was 40 degrees. The passengers were suffering. The air-conditioner (AC) was switched on when the flight took off," he said. 

The airline has not yet furnished any official statement on the trouble caused to passengers flying from Delhi to Darbhanga in Bihar.
