Delhi CM Rekha Gupta presented the FY26 Budget with key proposals to boost the city's infrastructure and welfare. Additionally, 50,000 CCTV cameras will be installed for women's safety.
The overall budget is Rs. 1 lakh crore, a 31.5% increase from last year, aiming for better infrastructure and public services.

In a major step to improve public health and sanitation, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announced that Rs. 9,000 crore will be allocated in the FY26 budget for clean drinking water and sanitation projects across the city.
In the Delhi Assembly, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta says, "The previous government failed in every aspect of development... Yamuna was unclean, road were damaged, air pollution was high. Delhi Jal Board, DTC... were facing losses. Dirty water and overflowing sewers became Delhi's identity. Being handed over such a government and running it is no less than a challenge...".

The Allahabad High Court Bar Association on Tuesday began an indefinite strike to protest against the proposed transfer of Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Varma to the high court here.
Leading the protesting lawyers gathered at gate number 3 of the high court, Bar Association President Anil Tiwari told reporters, "This protest is not against any court or judge but against those who have betrayed the judicial system." He added, "Our fight is against those involved in corruption and against a system that lacks transparency. For now, our demand is a reconsideration and withdrawal of the transfer order." The Bar Association had reiterated its opposition to Justice Varma's transfer on Monday and decided to go on an indefinite strike from Tuesday.

A consignment of illegal liquor worth Rs 10 lakh that was being smuggled to Bihar via the river route has been intercepted by the police here, officials said on Tuesday.

Three Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Tuesday, police said.
The gunfight broke out at around 8 am in a forest along the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts when a team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation, a police official said.
Bodies of three Naxalites along with firearms and explosives were recovered from the spot, he said.
