Delhi Weather Update: Light Rain Brings Relief, More Showers Expected in Parts of NCR

Delhi Weather Update: Several parts of the national capital received light rainfall on Friday, bringing a much-needed respite from rising temperatures as Delhiites celebrated Holi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the effects of the Western Disturbance over North India will continue until March 15, possibly leading to more showers in the region.  

Rainfall Across Delhi and NCR

The IMD reported that light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is likely to occur in several areas of Delhi, including:  

- North & Central Delhi: Burari, Model Town, Civil Lines, Kashmiri Gate, and Delhi University  

- East Delhi: Karawal Nagar, Shahdara, Vivek Vihar, Preet Vihar, and Seemapuri  

- West & South Delhi: Pitampura, Patel Nagar, Punjabi Bagh, Rajiv Chowk, and ITO  

Thunderstorms in Neighboring States

The weather department has also warned of *moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in parts of Haryana and Rajasthan.* Areas such as *Loharu, Sadulpur, and Pilani* in Rajasthan, as well as *Narwana, Barwala, and Hisar* in Haryana, are expected to experience strong showers.  

What’s Next for Delhi’s Weather?

While intermittent rainfall is expected to continue for the next 24 hours, the IMD has forecast a gradual rise in temperatures from March 16 onward.
