New Delhi: As Disha Salian's father approaches the Bombay High Court for a fresh investigation into his daughter's death, five years after the tragic incident, suspicions surrounding the mysterious demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput continue to grow.
In an exclusive interview with Republic Media Network, Sushant's paternal cousin, Neeraj Singh Bablu, said the actor’s death was a “murder and not a suicide” and expressed his intention to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis regarding the case seeking a detailed probe.
When asked about Disha Salian father's recent petition for a new probe, Bablu, who is also a BJP leader, said, "When we said that Disha was murdered and thrown off from the terrace, and her case is linked to Sushant's, nobody believed us. Now, since Disha's father is requesting a fresh investigation and claiming she was killed, we also request the state and relevant officials to look into this case thoroughly. We are confident that Sushant's case is connected, and the truth will eventually come to light."
"Sushant was a talented and bold actor. We’ve always maintained that he was murdered, not a suicide. And as you can see, new claims are starting to emerge," he said.
He also called for the ongoing CBI probe to be concluded as soon as possible. Bablu mentioned he would soon meet with the Maharashtra CM to request a comprehensive investigation into the case.
Bablu recalled that the incident occurred under the Uddhav Thackeray-led government, stating that according to locals, Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya could be somehow involved.
Aaditya Thackeray is yet to address the allegations, but his party has raised questions about why the issue is resurfacing after five years, claiming it might be part of a conspiracy against him.
Recently Republic Media confronted Aaditya but he gave no response.
Furthermore, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve came to Thackeray’s defence, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was behind the accusations.
Sanjay Raut also questioned the timing of Satish Salian’s petition, suggesting that efforts were being made to damage the Thackeray family’s reputation.
Disha Salian, the former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead on June 8, 2020, after reportedly jumping from a high-rise building in Mumbai's Malad area. She was 28 years old.
Her death occurred just days before Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14, leading to widespread speculation that the two incidents were connected.
In December 2022, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Salian's death.
