DK Shivakumar's Destiny As CM Sealed, It’s Just Matter Of Time: Veerappa Moily’s Endorsement Leaves Siddaramaiah In Shadows

Bengaluru: Backing DK Shivakumar to become the next chief minister of Karnataka, Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily on Sunday said that deputy chief minister’s popularity has grown in the state, adding that he has played an important role in strengthening the party. 

Addressing a public event in Udupi, Veerappa Moily recalled, “I am the one who secured the MLA ticket for DK Shivakumar for the first time. Today he has become a successful leader in Karnataka. We all wish for him to become the Chief Minister soon."

Moily said that Shivakumar has earned the right to become the chief minister of Karnataka, and no one can stop him from holding that position in the near future.  

"He has provided strong leadership and prioritized strengthening the party. Some may criticize him for personal reasons, but that won’t change anything. Becoming Chief Minister is not something that needs to be granted to him; he has earned it," senior Congress leader said.

"Nobody can stop him from becoming Chief Minister. The course of history has already been written. Either today or tomorrow, it will happen, as it’s just a matter of time... Even his supporters should not claim that they made him. No matter how many crores someone tries to spend, nobody can change destiny," he added. 

Shivakumar To Become Karnataka CM by End of 2025? 

Congress MLA Basavaraju Shivaganga has asserted that DK Shivakumar will be holding the position of chief minister in December 2025.

"There is no deadline as such. Write it down and keep it. If you want, I will write it in blood and give it to you. He will become Chief Minister in December. He will take charge in December," Shivaganga told reporters in Davangere.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar defended his visit to the Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev's Isha yoga centre on the occasion of Maha Shivratri

Shivakumar asserted that Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has a huge following and is making significant contributions to society, particularly in addressing the Cauvery water crisis.

"Sadhguru is from Karnataka. He has been fighting for the cause of Cauvery water and soil. He personally came and invited me. He has a big following, and he is doing some great work... MLAs and leaders from various political parties were there at the event. I have gone there. That is my personal belief," DK Shivakumar said.

DK Shivakumar received criticism from several Congress leaders over his visit to the Isha Yoga Center, where he shared the dias with Union Home Minister Amit Shah .
