An encounter broke out in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara district on Thursday Morning.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the site near Kralgund area.

Internet services have been snapped and search operation is still underway as of the last update.

On March 01, 2019, an encounter broke out on Friday between the Security forces and terrorists in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two Lashkar terrorists were gunned down and 7 civilians were injured in the encounter.

Earlier on February 18, 2019, three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter in Pulwama in south Kashmir. One of them was Jaish-e-Mohammed chief operation commander and JeM founder Masood Azhar's top aide Kamran.

Kamran was a Pakistani national who went by the alias Gazi and was heading all operations in the valley.

One terrorist has been gunned down by security forces in Handwara.
