Fire breaks out inside a factory in Moti Nagar, Delhi. LIVE UPDATES

A fire has broken out inside a factory at Sudarshan Park in West Delhi's Moti Nagar.

Six people were killed Thursday after an LPG cylinder blast in a building in West Delhi's Sudarshan Park triggered its partial collapse, police said.

The fire department received a call about the collapse at around 8.48 pm and eight fire tenders, along with ambulances, were rushed to the spot, they said. 

"The incident took place in West Delhi's Sudarshan Park area after an LPG cylinder blast. Six people have died while eight were rescued and sent to hospital. The building comprises ground and the first floors," Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), said. 

A search operation is underway and further details are awaited.

Earlier in December, a level-3 fire broke out in Sadhana House behind Mahindra Towers in Mumbai's Worli area. The incident took place around 4: 44 pm in the evening. Two ambulances and 8 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire broke out on the ground floor of the building, however, no causalities were reported.

On the same day, a blaze had also erupted at an under construction building near Kamala mills compound in Mumbai. Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. No reports of casualties or injuries were reported.
