From Behind Bars: How Lawrence Bishnoi Maintains His Criminal Activities From Jail

New Delhi: Hailing from Ferozepur, Punjab , a man who goes by the name Lawrence Bishnoi, aged 30, has emerged as one of the country's most notorious criminals in recent years. 

His gang has claimed responsibility for several high-profile murders, including that of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the leader of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Khalistani terrorist Sukhdool Singh, alias Sukha Duneke, and the Punjabi singing sensation Siddhu Moosewala.

Most recently, the Bishnoi gang has taken credit for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, alleging he had connections with Dawood Ibrahim and the D-Company.

But who is Lawrence Bishnoi and How He is Running Operations Behind Bars 

Lawrence Bishnoi, currently charged under the UAPA and imprisoned at Sabarmati Central Jail, was born to a police constable in Haryana . During his college years, he became involved with notorious gangster Goldy Brar, and together they were responsible for several killings and criminal activities. In 2013, Bishnoi shot and killed the winning candidate in the Government College elections in Muktsar, as well as a rival candidate in the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation elections.

On the ground, Goldy Brar oversees operations for the gang, which has a knack for recruiting young individuals. These recruits are often promised opportunities for emigration abroad, particularly to Western countries.

Bishnoi Gang Network Operating With 700+ Shooters 

According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Bishnoi gang is operating with more than 700 shooters across five states, and they have international connections as well. Notably, around 300 of these shooters are from Punjab .

Bishnoi gang has employed “Dabba Calling” technique to make untraceable calls. This method involves routing calls through illegal exchanges, allowing them to bypass standard mobile networks and evade law enforcement tracking.

Key Members of Bishnoi Gang Network

Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Sampat Nehra, Kala Jathedi,  Anmol Bishnoi are some of the key associates of Lawrence Bishnoi. Jaswinder Singh ‘Rocky’ was also reportedly close to Bishnoi, although he was shot dead near Himachal Pradesh in 2016.

Bishnoi on multiple occasions has claimed that actor Salman Khan will not be spared leading to him getting Y+ category security.

“We have no personal enmity with anyone. However, anyone who helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be prepared. If anyone gets any of our brothers killed, we will respond. We never strike first. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat, salute to the martyrs,” an unverifiable post posted by Lawrence’s gang said after claiming responsibility of murder of Baba Siddique.  

NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead when the whole country was celebrating Dusshera festival on October 12. He was buried with full state honors.
