Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Advisory, Here's All You Need to Know

Mumbai: The 10-day long Ganeshotsav has begun today, on September 7 and while a lot of cities across India celebrate it, the festival is known to be celebrated best in Maharashtra , particularly Mumbai. In view of the Ganesh Chaturthi 2024, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for selective days, to ensure Mumbaikars are not stuck in long traffic jams.

Ganeshotsav 2024: Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Advisory

To ensure that the residents of Mumbai are not stuck in long traffic jams, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory; the advisory has been issued for five different days, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 am on each of those days.

The advisory will remain in place on September 8, 11, 12, 13 and 17, 2024.

BIG UPDATE: The Dharmaveer Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road will remain open for all kinds of vehicles, on all days from September 7 to 18.

Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Roads Closed, Diversions

1. The traffic on Nathalal Parekh Road between Bhai Bhandarkar Chowk and Sayyed Mohammed Jamadar Chowk has been restricted and the commuters can take the Captain Prakash Pethe Marg instead.
2. SBS Road and Nathalal Parekh Marg can be used by those using the Rambhau Salgaonkar Marg on Volga Chowk-Morarka Chowk route.
3. Northside traffic from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road has been diverted to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road.
4. On the Sangeetkar Abdul Kareem Khan Chowk to Portuguese Church route, the JSS Road has been closed and commuters may use the Maharshi Karve Road or N.S. Road.
5. Traffic has been restricted for P.D'Mello Road on Kaklij Chowk-Wadibunder Junction route and alternatively, SVP Road, Dr. B. A. Road, and JJ Road can be used.
6. The Pandita Ramabai Marg has been closed on the Wilson Junction-Cecil Junction route and in place, Sitaram Patkar Marg, Bandstand, and RTI Junction can be used alternatively.

Mumbai Police Highlights No-Parking Zones

As part of its traffic advisory for the Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 celebrations, the Mumbai Police has also announced certain areas as no-parking zones.

As per the traffic advisory, Nathalal Parekh Marg, Captain Prakash Pethe Marg, JSS Road, and SVP Road will remain no-parking zones from 11:00 am to 6:00 am next day on the immersion days.
