New Delhi: In Delhi's Geeta Colony area, at least one person died and another sustained critical injuries after they fell off a flyover along with their bike on Sunday. According to eyewitnesses, the two men, who were in an inebriated condition, fell from the Geeta Colony flyover loop while passing from there on their motorcycle. On information, the local police rushed to the spot, where they were informed that one of the injured was declared dead after they were shifted to a nearby hospital. 

According to a senior police official, the incident was reported to the police at 3.02 pm, and local authorities responded immediately. Upon arrival, they found that the injured men had been taken to Dr.Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan by a passerby.

The official stated that the motorcycle was found at the scene in an accidental condition. The police investigation revealed that both men were drunk at the time of the accident.

The deceased has been identified as Sonu (30), a resident of Bhagirathi Vihar, Delhi, his injured companion, has also been identified as Sonu (27), a resident of Sarita Vihar. The injured is claimed to be in an unconscious state and is being treated at the hospital.

During the preliminary inquiries, it was found that the two men were uncle and nephew, travelling from Bhagirathi Vihar to Sarita Vihar. 

The police have registered a case under relevant sections and a probe has been initiated.
