Magadh Production House's National Fashion Show Pays Tribute to Women in the Indian Armed Forces

New Delhi: In the ever-evolving world of high fashion, where trends emerge and fade with the seasons, Magadh Production House has consistently crafted a narrative that transcends mere aesthetics. Their National Fashion Show has become a beacon of creativity, compassion, and community, captivating audiences with its unique blend of style and substance. This year’s show, titled “Women Empowerment in the Armed Forces,” was a poignant tribute to the resilience and strength of women donning the uniform to serve the nation. Furthermore, this year's show also paid a heartfelt homage to war widows—remarkable women who have lost their husbands in service to the nation. Often overlooked and underappreciated, these women were celebrated for their courage, strength, and unwavering patriotism. Magadh Production House aimed to change the narrative surrounding war widows, casting a spotlight on their inspiring stories. 

Nari Shakti Awards: Celebrating Women in Uniform 

The event also featured the prestigious Nari Shakti Awards, recognizing the outstanding contributions of women serving in the Indian Armed Forces. Among the recipients was Major Abhilasha Barak from the Army Aviation Corps, celebrated for becoming the first woman combat aviator in the Indian Army in 2022. Major Barak, hailing from Haryana and the daughter of a retired colonel, completed her training at the Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik, Maharashtra, and was commissioned into the Army Air Defence Corps in September 2018.

Magadh Production House further highlighted its commitment to inclusivity by providing a stage for specially-abled children to perform at the event. Among the participants was young Ahida Sarmai, a child with Down Syndrome who performed the Ganesh Vandana as the welcome dance. Ahida’s performance was a testament to the event’s spirit of inclusion and celebration of diverse talents. 

Down Syndrome is a genetic condition caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21, affecting a person’s physical and intellectual development. Despite the challenges associated with Down Syndrome, Ahida’s graceful performance highlighted the potential and talent that can be nurtured with the right support.
