Garhwa (Jharkhand): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that his government would soon relaunch the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ programme to address public grievances on the spot.
Speaking at the inauguration of the two-day 'Banshidhar Mahotsav' in Garhwa, Soren said, “Like the previous term, we will soon relaunch the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ programme to resolve the grievances of people in rural areas.”
Soren claimed that Jharkhand had witnessed significant changes in the past five years, unlike the previous 20 years after the state's formation.
“I have been stating that our government doesn’t operate from Ranchi but from villages of the state. This is the people’s government,” he said.
The chief minister highlighted his government’s commitment to women’s welfare, stating that they were providing the highest financial assistance to women among all states to help them overcome challenges.
"We fulfilled our promise to the women of the state soon after forming the government," Soren added.
Taking an indirect dig at the BJP, Soren accused “disruptive elements” of creating obstacles for his government.
“They not only create barriers to prevent us from working but also harass us with false allegations,” he said.
Soren addressed the water crisis in Palamu and Garhwa, which fall under a rain shadow area.
"Farmers in the area suffer due to scanty rainfall. To deal with this crisis, our government, in its previous term, launched the Rs 1200-crore Kanhar project. It is likely to be completed in six to eight months," he said.
During the event, Soren also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 182.73 crore for the Palamu division, furthering the state's development agenda.
