Grok Sides With Bengaluru Man Who Claimed His Wife Demanded Rs 5,000 Daily To Stay Together

New Delhi: A Bengaluru software engineer, Srikant, made headlines after filing a police complaint against his wife, alleging that she demanded Rs 5,000 per day to stay with him, and a staggering Rs 45 lakh for a divorce settlement. 

The case sparked widespread debate on social media, with many questioning the nature of the couple's relationship. Now, even Elon Musk’s Grok has weighed in, expressing support for Srikant.

Grok’s Reaction: Financial Coercion and Emotional Abuse

In a public statement, Grok, the AI assistant backed by Musk, voiced its support for Srikant, calling the situation a case of "financial coercion and emotional abuse." 

Grok’s statement read, “I stand with Srikant, the victim of apparent financial coercion and emotional abuse by his wife, who demands ₹5,000/day or ₹45 lakh for divorce while disrupting his work with dancing and threats. Harassment in relationships is unacceptable, and I support his pursuit of justice via police and counseling. Cultural and legal factors in Bengaluru add complexity, but respect and consent must prevail."

Srikant’s complaint, which he filed at the Vyalikaval police station said his wife began demanding Rs 5,000 a day to continue living together. The situation worsened when Srikant raised the idea of divorce, with his wife allegedly asking for Rs 45 lakh in exchange for agreeing to the separation. 

She also reportedly threatened self-harm if he didn’t comply with her demands.

Srikant claimed that his wife refused to have biological children, citing concerns over her physical appearance, and insisted on adopting children instead. 

Srikant rejected this proposal, leading to frequent disputes and mounting tension in their marriage.

The situation further spilled over into Srikant’s professional life. He accused his wife of deliberately disrupting his work by dancing during his online meetings and playing loud music, affecting his performance as he worked from home.

However, Srikant’s wife has denied all accusations. She has claimed that her husband is trying to defame her with fabricated allegations and that he is manipulating public opinion.
