New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for parts of East Madhya Pradesh , predicting extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday. This warning highlights the potential for severe weather conditions in the region, urging authorities and residents to remain prepared.

‘Deep Depression’ Over Odisha Can Result in Heavy Rainfall

An Orange Alert has been declared for Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra , and Odisha , where heavy to very heavy rain is expected. The heavy rainfall in Odisha is because of the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, which is likely to result in prolonged wet spells for the coming days.

In a twitter posted on X (formerly Twitter), the IMD said, “Deep depression over interior Odisha weakened into a depression over the same region. It is very likely to move across north Chhattisgarh and weaken further into a well-marked low-pressure area around the evening of 10th September.”

With the deep depression making landfall near Puri in Odisha , the state government has mobilised resources for relief and rescue operations, anticipating significant impacts on affected districts. The IMD has warned that such weather systems can lead to severe conditions, necessitating swift emergency responses to minimize damage and ensure public safety.

These States to Face Heavy Rainfall in Coming Days

According to the IMD, several regions will experience heavy rainfall in the coming days. Chhattisgarh is likely to face heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next seven days. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Madhya Maharashtra until September 10, while Konkan, Goa , and Kerala , along with Mahe, are likely to receive similar weather until September 11.

Delhi Weather Updates

In the capital, Delhi, the IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky for Tuesday, with light rain anticipated. Temperatures are expected to range between a high of 34 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius.
