Hyderabad: The Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police have issued a strict advisory for the Holi festivities. The Holi festival will be observed across India on Friday, March 14.
The advisory strictly prohibits throwing colors on persons who are unwilling and the movement of two-wheelers in groups.
1. Throwing colors or colored water on unwilling persons, places, and vehicles, or smearing people with color on public roads and public places in Cyberabad, causing annoyance.
2. Prohibiting the movement of two-wheelers and other vehicles in groups on streets and public places, disturbing peace and order, or causing inconvenience, annoyance, or danger to the public.
The police further mentioned that the order will come into effect from 6 PM on March 13, 2025, to 6 AM on March 15, 2025, in Hyderabad.
In Cyberabad, the order will be effective from 6 AM on March 14 to 6 AM on March 15.
"This order shall be in force from 6 PM on 13.3.25 to 6 AM on 15.3.25 in Hyderabad and from 6 AM on 14.3.25 to 6 AM on 15.3.25 in Cyberabad in connection with the celebration of the Holi Festival 2025," the advisory read.
The Hyderabad Police has also banned the opening of liquor outlets on the day of Holi. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu stated that all liquor outlets will remain closed on Holi. The closure will be in force from 6 AM to 6 PM to prevent any alcohol-related incidents.
The Commissioner mentioned that wine shops, toddy shops, and bars attached to restaurants in the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate would remain closed on Holi day.
Although bars in star hotels and registered clubs can remain operational, violations in these cases will lead to prosecution under Section 76 of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli.
