How Monkeys Foiled Man's Bid to Rape 6-Year-Old Girl in UP's Baghpat
According to the police, the accused tried to sexually assault her but fled when the monkeys appeared showing aggression.
Baghat: A troop of monkeys reportedly stopped a man from allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, on September 20. The girl later informed her parents, saying the monkeys saved her.
Monkeys Save Girl from Being Raped
The incident took place in Daula village, where the man allegedly lured the girl to an abandoned house and tried to undress her when bunch of monkeys arrived at the spot. According to the police, the accused tried to sexually assault her but fled when the monkeys appeared showing aggression.
Accused Caught on CCTV
CCTV footage from the village showed the accused leading the child away from her home, where she had been playing in front of her house. Police believe the man is from a nearby village and have launched a search to apprehend him.
Police said that the accused held hands of the girl and took her to street near a religious building and then he took her to an abandoned building where he tried to rape her.
The girl told her parents that the man threatened to kill her and her family if she resisted. After the monkeys scared him off, she ran home and informed her parents, who filed a complaint with the police. The accused is being charged under relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
