New Delhi: Israel's ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, gave a strong statement on Iran amid the rising tensions in the Middle East after unprecedented missile attacks lashed all over Israel and said that ‘Iran will be our responsibility’
On counterattack by Israel on Iran, Israel's ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, said “Our pm was very clear that Iran will pay a price. We have to think about it thoroughly, can we have a situation where rouge states like Iran attack with a barrage of ballistic missiles?”
"If this goes unchecked, then consequences will be terrible for the region. If nobody is going to stop Iran, then it is our responsibility", he added further.
On the eve of Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year ), Israel faced a massive missile attack, with over 400 ballistic missiles launched from Iran, setting off sirens across the country. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the missiles were fired from Iran, leading to alerts in central and southern Israel, urging citizens to seek immediate shelter. The global reaction was swift, with the West and pro-Israel nations condemning the attack, while celebrations erupted in Iran.
Footage from various parts of Israel showed defense systems intercepting missiles, with debris falling in several regions. The IDF reported that explosions heard across the country were due to successful missile interceptions or impacts. Shrapnel and debris were found in Tel Aviv, the Sharon region, and near the Dead Sea, though no injuries had been reported at the time.
