IN PICS: PM Modi Joins Viral Ghibli Trend, Shares Animated Moments With Trump & Macron

After Devendra Fadnavis and Smriti Irani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has joined the viral Ghibli AI trend that has taken the internet by storm. The photos have been shared on the Instagram page of MyGov, the Government of India’s citizen engagement platform.

The trend has gained massive attention after OpenAI’s latest model, GPT-4o, transformed ordinary photos into artwork inspired by Studio Ghibli’s iconic animation style.

The post recreates several iconic moments of PM Modi, featuring images of him with US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, and in an army uniform. The collection also includes a Ghibli-style rendition of PM Modi at the inauguration of Ram Janmabhoomi and his visit to Lakshadweep.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also joined the trend by sharing Ghibli-style pictures featuring himself and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The trend has swept across social media, with several celebrities and public figures, including Sachin Tendulkar and Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma, joining in.

How to Create Ghibli-Style Images for Free?

The Ghibli-style AI images have captured global attention following a recent ChatGPT update by OpenAI. While launching this feature, OpenAI stated: “GPT‑4o’s image generation excels at accurately rendering text, precisely following prompts, and leveraging its inherent knowledge base and chat context—including transforming uploaded images or using them as visual inspiration.”

Step-by-Step Guide to Create Ghibli-Style Images:
    1.    Open ChatGPT and ensure you have the latest update. This feature is available to ChatGPT Plus users.
    2.    For free users, GPT-4o’s image generation tools can still be used to create Ghibli-style images.
    3.    Once inside the app, click on the three dots on the prompt bar and choose the “Image” option, which appears alongside “Canvas.”
    4.    Enter a text prompt, describing the image you want—mentioning details like clothing, background, and mood—then press ‘Enter.’
    5.    Alternatively, upload a real photograph to transform it into a Ghibli-style image.
    6.    Once the AI processes your input, the Ghibli-style image will be generated—simply download it and share it on social media.
