Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of deliberately delaying peace efforts, saying Moscow has yet to provide a “meaningful response” to the U.S. ceasefire proposals. In a statement on X, Zelenskyy urged Washington to exert pressure on the Kremlin to end the war.

According to Ushakov, President Putin is expected to provide a "more specific and substantive assessment" of the ceasefire proposal on Thursday.

Ushakov made it clear that Russia is looking for a more permanent resolution to the three-year war.

A top aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday dismissed a proposed ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. 

 Senior BSF, police and civil administration officials on Thursday paid tributes to the three border guards who were killed in an accident in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, the paramilitary force said in a statement.

Police personnel in Maharashtra's Beed district will now put up their name plates without surnames, in an attempt to eliminate caste-based discrimination, an official said on Thursday.
