CBI conducts searches at seven locations in Mumbai. The search was at locations of Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal in an alleged bank fraud case of Rs 538 crores. His wife Anita Goyal and others are accused in the case.

According to DG J&K Police Dilbag Singh, the investigation is ongoing and senior army officers are also present. He expressed confidence that the forces will succeed. He also stated that , sadly, some soldiers lost their lives and we arrived and took note of the situation.

Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, urged wrestlers to give time to complete the Delhi Police's independent investigation into their demands. "A demand was there to form a committee and it was constituted, FIR has been registered by Delhi police and Supreme Court also gave its verdict. Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Flight 371 made an emergency landing at Patna Airport. According to reports, the plane made an emergency landing at Patna airport at around 12 noon. Opposition leaders, including Farooq Abdullah, D Raja, Sitaram Yechury and MK Stalin, called Sharad Pawar and requested him to withdraw his resignation. The leaders belonging to different political party asked Pawar to continue as NCP chief.

The situation has been brought under control in Manipur through coordinated actions by all stakeholders. IAF undertook continuous sorties from two airfields in Assam employing C17 Globemaster an AN 32 aircrafts. Induction commenced on the night of May 4 and additional columns commenced domination with effect from wee hours of May 5, informed Indian Army.

Domination and evacuation of civilians of all communities from affected areas continued throughout the night. Flag march in Churachandpur and other sensitive areas underway. 

During a CASO, a firing took place in the Kesari Hill area in Kandi of Rajouri district. The Police is trying to ascertain whether a group of terrorists have been trapped.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar departs for London to attend the Coronation ceremony of King Charles III on behalf of the Government of India.

Following the law and order situation in Manipur, Northeast Frontier Railway has stopped all Manipur-bound trains. "No trains are entering Manipur till the situation is improved. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang met Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday, May 4, on the sidelines of the SCO Foreign Ministers meet and reiterated that the situation at the India-China border is generally stable. He further stated that both sides should consolidate the present achievements and strictly abide by the relevant agreements while pushing for further cooling and easing of the conditions for sustainable peace and tranquillity at the frontier.
