New Delhi: During a meeting between US Intelligence Chief Tulsi Gabbard and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, India raised serious concerns over anti-India activities carried out by the Khalistani organisation Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) in the United States, sources told news agency ANI.

India reportedly expressed concerns and asked the US Admin to take strong action against the unlawful organisation.

This comes as the US Department of Justice in November 2023 reported uncovering a plot to assassinate Pannun, allegedly planned by an individual linked to the Indian government. Subsequent findings pointed to an agent from India’s intelligence agency, R&AW, accused of attempting to hire a hitman to kill the SFJ leader.

India has however rejected any involvement in the plot and has launched a high-level probe into the allegations.

Pannun, a dual citizen of the US and Canada, is wanted in India on terror-related charges and has been declared a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
