New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strongly worded statement, asserting that if India engages in dialogue with Pakistan, it will only be about the return of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

During his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister stated, “If there are talks between India and Pakistan, they will only be about terrorism and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK)... India's stance has been clear that terror, trade, and talks cannot go together.”

Operation Sindoor is new normal, says PM Modi

PM Modi emphasised that Operation Sindoor is now India's policy against terrorism. This operation has drawn a new line, it's the new normal.

"For the last two and a half decades, many handlers of terrorists were openly roaming around Pakistan and conspiring against India. India eliminated them in one swift action. Pakistan was shaken and depressed. Instead of cooperating with India, it made a second mistake, it chose to attack us...," the Prime Minister remarked.

Path to peace goes through power: PM Modi

Acknowledging the significance of Buddha Purnima, PM Modi referred to Lord Buddha’s teachings on peace while underscoring the necessity of strength to achieve it saying, "The path to peace passes through power." (Shaanti ka maarg bhi shakti se hokar jata hai).

Reiterating one of his previous statement, PM Modi affirmed that this is not an era of war, but it's also not an era of terrorism.

"India has defeated Pakistan every time on the battlefield, and this time, Operation Sindoor has introduced a new dimension... Our 'Made in India' weapons have proven their authenticity... We must remain united against all forms of terrorism. Our unity is our greatest strength," he added.

Pakistan cried before global community after suffering heavy losses

Following India's aggressive action, Pakistan sought ways to de-escalate tensions. It reached out to the global community for assistance and, after suffering heavy losses, its military contacted India's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on May 10.

"By then, India had destroyed a significant portion of the terrorist infrastructure, eliminating many terrorists. When Pakistan assured that it would refrain from further terrorist activity and military aggression, India took that into consideration...," PM Modi stated.

Continuing his address, he remarked that Pakistan had sought global intervention but, after facing severe setbacks, its military reached out to India's DGMO on May 10.

"We do not differentiate between a government influenced by terrorists and the handlers of terrorism. The way Pakistan’s military and government are fostering terrorism will ultimately lead to its downfall. If Pakistan wishes to be spared, it must dismantle its terror infrastructure," the Prime Minister warned.

Concluding his speech, PM Modi reiterated his gratitude toward the Indian Armed Forces and expressed his respect for the unwavering unity of Indian citizens.
