Rome: An Indian-origin passenger, who was on the Delhi-bound American Airlines flight which was diverted to Rome following a suspected ‘bomb threat’, raised an SOS from his hotel in Rome, while the flight was being inspected. The passenger wrote to the airline about being stranded without his luggage via his social media account on ‘X’; the airline responded to him shortly.

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), an Indian-origin passenger, Lucky Chawla who was part of the 199 passengers on board the American Airlines flight to Delhi from New York, sent an SOS from his hotel in Rome, seeking the airline's help to help him with his luggage, as he remains stranded.
Lucky Chawla said in his post, “American Airlines, AA292 getting rerouted due to a bomb threat has left me stranded at a Rome hotel—my checked bags are at the airport. Crew & ground staff were amazing, but I'm extremely stressed—I urgently need my bags to rebook my trip. Unable to get any help. Please help.”
American Airlines Responds to Stranded Indian-Origin Passenger's SOS
Within an hour, American Airlines responded to the Indian-origin passenger's message on X, assuring assistance. The airline's reply read, “We're sorry to hear you were unable to get your bag. We've reached out to our team in FCO to see if we can you additional information.”

Delhi-Bound American Airlines Flight Diverted to Rome Following ‘Bomb Threat’
The Delhi-bound American Airlines Boeing 787-9 aircraft, that departed from New York made an emergency landing at Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Rome at 5:30 pm (local time) after a suspected bomb threat email, which later turned out to be hoax. The flight was carrying 199 passengers and 15 crew members; post landing in Rome, on the insistence of Rome, the aircraft was thoroughly inspected, screening of passengers was done at the terminal and after all the required checks, the American Airlines flight was cleared for departure from Rome.
